Alexandra Bowring has over fifteen years experience working in the field of wellbeing and mental health.
Beginning her career as a social worker, Alexandra became a registered psychologist in 2007 and has been in private practice since 2009.
As a social worker Alexandra gained experience working with couples and families. In 2002 she was employed as a relationship counsellor with Relationships Australia and achieved accreditation in 2003.
These early years shaped Alexandra's passion for helping adolescents, individuals, and couples improve their interpersonal relationships in both a personal and professional setting.
Alexandra believes the therapeutic relationship is an essential element in supporting and encouraging change and fosters a dynamic and collaborative approach.
She holds a Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis and enjoys incorporating hypnotic techniques to enhance counselling goals and treatment objectives.
Alexandra is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and the Australian Society of Hypnosis (MASH), and is currently extending her expertise through a Master of Counselling (specialising in couple counselling) at Swinburne University of Technology.
