Alexandra Bowring is a registered psychologist with over twenty years’ experience working in the field of wellbeing and mental health. She has been in private practice since 2009.

With a background in Social Work, Alexandra initially gained experience as a therapist working with couples and families.  In 2002 she was employed as a relationship counsellor with Relationships Australia and achieved accreditation via the Organisation’s supervisory program in 2003.

These early years shaped her passion for helping individuals and couples improve their interpersonal relationships, both personally and professionally.

Driven to expand her knowledge in the human psyche and relational dynamics, Alexandra  completed a Master of Social Science (Couple Counselling) at Swinburne University of Technology.  

Alexandra holds a Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis and enjoys incorporating hypnotic techniques to enhance treatment goals. Trained in Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), Alexandra has been pleased to see how these interventions are helping to reduce stress and trauma related symptoms.

She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), the Australian Society of Hypnosis (MASH), and the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). She is also a member and clinical registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
